New Chef Refreshes American Cuisine Menu with International Influences

Basking Ridge, NJ (March 29, 2018)… Red Oak Grille, the casually elegant public restaurant and bar located at New Jersey National Golf Club, has re-opened after undergoing renovations to the kitchen. The re-opening comes with the introduction of new chef, Julio Castellanos, who has added some inspiring new selections that will captivate your taste buds, while complementing the traditional favorites on the menu.
“We are excited to reopen and introduce Chef Julio Castellanos to the Red Oak Grille family,” said Pierre Bohemond, General Manager, New Jersey National Golf Club & Red Oak Grille.  “The imaginative menu, which embraces American cuisine with an international influence, has been updated and Chef Castellanos has incorporated some unique creations. Our customers are going to love this new-look menu and we’re excited to showcase our selection of new dishes to the community.”
Chef Castellanos has worked under award-winning chefs including, David Felton and Chef Juan Jose Cuevas, where he learned innovative techniques to fuse French cuisine with international dishes, allowing him to express contemporary old favorites and more adventurous dishes. Chef Castellanos has added flare to the Red Oak Grille menu with his own unique creations highlighted by Jail Island Salmon (served with white quinoa, butternut squash puree, sautéed mustard greens, and marinated clams); Vegetarian Japanese Eggplant (with rainbow Swiss chard and an aged balsamic glaze) and Carnaroli Risotto (with aged provolone, chives, and caramelized walnuts), among other delectable dishes.
Overlooking the majestic grounds of a top-rated golf course, the red oak floors and elegant mahogany tables contribute to the inviting atmosphere, as the Red Oak Grille serves as the perfect venue to host special events for all occasions, including holiday parties, rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, business gatherings and more.

The restaurant is open Tuesday – Thursday: Lunch: 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM | Dinner: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM; Friday – Saturday: Lunch: 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM | Dinner: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM;  Sunday – Lunch/Brunch Specials: 11:30 AM – 4:00 PM | Dinner: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM; Children’s menus are available, making Red Oak Grille a great location for family gatherings, while take-out is also an option.
